From 2 Stones Events:
Our amazing partners at Lake Trust Credit Union are once again helping us present free summer concerts on the second Wednesdays of June-September. The series kicks off June 8 with the Steve Taylor Three and, as always, the sound will be awesome thanks to Heslip Audio.
These shows will run from 7-8:30 p.m. and are open to the public. Bring a lawn chair or blanket for grass seating, but The AMP has plenty of seating as well.
Each concert includes a food drive for the Livingston Hunger Council, and attendees are asked to please bring a non-perishable food item. Canned vegetables and canned meats are needed. Of course, monetary donations will gladly be accepted as well.
Livingston may be Michigan's richest county, but there is still a very real need amongst many of our neighbors. 2 Stones Events is committed to these food drives, and Bridget Brown, director of Food Secure Livingston, confirmed our commitment in this summary of the impact of the 2021 effort:
“Turn Up the AMP! provided approximately 400 pounds of food! That’s the equivalent of over 330 meals to those in need across Livingston County. In addition, I understand that we had many conversations about food insecurity when guests stopped by the table asking who we were, what we were up to, and how they could help. Thank you so much for allowing us to partner with you. Doug Fekete was there for almost all of them and has shared what a great experience it was and how thankful he was for the opportunity to share through the exposure. We are so grateful. Thank you.”
So come hear great live music and help feed the need! And why not support one of the many Brighton restaurants before or after the show. (FYI: Our downtown is now a 'social district' -- you can get an adult beverage at one of our fine establishments and enjoy it at The AMP.)
