Please join us for a wellness event put on by Tara Freni and Abby Usher from The Willow Center in Brighton! They will be referencing Glennon Doyle's "Untamed" and pulling from Brene Brown's work throughout the evening as they talk about the importance of self care and supporting your own mental health.
Tara's education and training as a marriage and family therapist put language to what she has always understood about people and relationships - the systems, or relationships, a person experiences influences their behaviors, understanding of self, and needs. She provides mental health care to folks with intersectionality in mind and believes in celebrating our LGBTQIA+ communities and operating from a social justice lens. Tara has a special passion for working with couples or relationships, families, women, trauma, and grief.
Abby's social work education and infant mental health endorsement inform her work with young children and their families, as well as individuals. She believes strongly in trauma-informed, attachment-based models of therapy, holding social justice and anti-racism work in mind for both herself and her clients. Abby loves providing relationship-based care to young kiddos and their caregivers, and firmly believes that safe and secure attachments are critical in supporting healthy development. Abby also works with individuals working through pregnancy/postpartum transitions, trauma, relational/attachment difficulties, grief, and loss.
